The Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX) platform provides a simple and convenient graphical interface to enable users to examine and add datasets, but what if you want to write a computer program that can do this? What if you wish to bring together multiple datasets from several organisations and perform sophisticated processing upon them?

Now you can! HDX has a new library which allows coders, professional or amateur, to interact with the HDX platform through a straightforward programming interface.

Please take a look here to learn more about the purpose and design philosophy of the library and here for the library, installation instructions and a tutorial.

Developed to support our partners and users as well as for internal use, we welcome feedback on the library and suggestions for improvements and new features. Help us shape this library to support your programming needs! Please send your comments to us at
